Planning your project

Prepare for a plumbing visit: a simple checklist

Help your plumber understand the problem and reach the work area without losing useful details.

Write a short problem history

Record when the issue started, which fixtures are affected and whether it is constant or intermittent. Share previous repair records and product model information when available. Avoid assuming the diagnosis.

Arrange safe access

Discuss parking, entry arrangements and access to the affected area. Secure pets and move loose belongings if it is safe. Ask the plumber what access they need rather than opening walls or dismantling fixtures yourself.

Confirm the visit details

Confirm arrival arrangements, diagnostic charges, after-hours fees and how additional work will be approved. Keep your project brief and quote questions available during the visit.
